What are we excited about?
Face hugging creepy crawlies, nightmares that bleed acid and a whole lot of screaming. Who isn’t excited about about a Ridley Scott directed sequel to Prometheus?

Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi
The Alpha and the Omega of Casual geekery, Star Wars is the titan that has loomed large over sci fi for the last 40 years and it is impossible not to get excited over a new installment in the main chapter.
So far details are sketchy; we know the title (‘The last Jedi’), that it’s being directed by Rian Johnson, and that Benicio Del Toro will be making an appearance. Beyond that, we don’t even have a teaser trailer to pore over yet.
On Rian Johnson, it seems a little risky putting a main storyline SW film in the hands of a man who has a grand total of three previous feature films to his name, (most notably ‘Looper’). But it’s fine. I’m sure it will be fine. Almost definitely fine.
Prepare for lightspeed December 2017
Deadpool surprised the hell out of me when it burst onto our screens in 2016, mainly because against all expectations it was actually good. Funny from start to finish, covered in comical gore and with decent showings from Morena Baccarin & Ed Skrein, it was easily one of my top films of the year.
Ryan Reynolds’ working on a passion project seems to actually make him more likable, or at least I didn’t want to punch him in the face, much, and (maybe foolishly) we at part time geeks have high hopes for the 2nd installment. Oh and David Harbour (recently of Stranger Things) is rumoured to be playing Cable!
It’s not dropping until March 2018, but here’s a teaser trailer anyway.
